Set 2: Astral Weeks/Caledonia/Transcended (Van ends this one after coaxing a Jay Berliner solo.), Beside You, Slim Slow Slider (Van's doctor is German tonight. Another memorable Jay solo. "Frantic"), Sweet Thing (ending with a jerky, breathy violin solo), Cyprus Avenue ("my insides shake like jelly on a plate." "standing there.. in your revelation"), The Way Young Lovers Do (terse and sharp.. another big ovation), Ballerina ("sweet little angel eyes" is morphed into another San Francisco-ism: "over on Angel Island". Van walks over to Jay, looks at him and strums a loud, hard and fast rhythm at himin his fac E: Jay responds with a brilliant long solo. Move on up! Get on up!. The crowd loves it. 8.
