03/10/00 (Fri)  Wetlands Preserve - Manhattan, NY

Set 1: Intro1 > Crickets, Legend of Zelda, What Deaner Was Talking About, Airplane, Smile, PYT (Pretty Young Thing), Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, "Scott's Gone Theme", Joe, Bus on By
+ show original text

Comment: Thanks to Erik for this one
(1) spacey noises for a few seconds before "Crickets" formally begins
(2) a 14-year-old kid gets up on stage during the jam and pumps arm, headbanger-style. I think this was the younger brother of someone's, girlfriend, or something like that. (You can confirm with Andrew. He, told me the story but I forget all the details.)
(3) Scott broke a string on the previous song and paused to change it. While he was gone, the other three improvised a goofy rap thing. Andrew, called it a "Scott's Gone Theme."

E2: Backstage Pass
+ show original text

Comment: This night, featured a guest musician named John Thompson. He played Alto and Tenor saxophone with the guys tonight. He added a lot to bus on by, and I could have sworn I heard a "slave to the traffic light" tease. Scott broke a total of six strings tonight. He only changed two. Im adding this now, so thats the biggest thing i remember, other than that it was a spectacular show, that started from the first song, they were ready to play from the get go. Scott ended up playing the last couple songs with five strings, then one song with only four. When he came back for the encore, he had changed the two, but on the final strum of "Backstage Pass" (often referred to as "Rock n Roll") he broke three strings. This show also had the largest turn out of the last four.

Set 1: Do I Have to Ask, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Smile1, Out By Tracks, Silver Not Gold, Joe, These Jeans, Carson Daly, Your Brain Will Change, God
+ show original text

Comment: (1) Scott broak a string near the end and played the rest of the set with only five
(2) There was a guy yelling "Kill the whales!!" all throughout the set and finally someone shouted "Kill Brittney!!" at the end of Jeans. The top half a Brittney Spears cardboard cutout was then given to Andrew who then ripped it up. They then went into Carson Daly.
