Comment: (1) First time played. Merl Saunders and the Rainforest Band headlined. Merle's drummer was kicking off the show and as soon as the band should have kicked in, out goes the power (in all of SoBe) for about an hour. Merle's drummer kept it going, and Merle and the rest of his band, grabbed percussion stuff and gave it to the crowd, then Merle led a conga line thru the club. Then the power came back on and Merle did his thing. Then Ted and Walt started playing while Merles band was still breaking down, at roughly 4:00 am. Walt was playing the house electric, piano, and the rest of hte band joined one by one, and the band played til sunup (or so).
